Project: Temporary Comfort Cooling System for Assembly Line Workers
Solution: HVAC designed a portable system that provided the required cooling during the summer months.
To help offset worker fatigue and relieve the burden of a hot working environment, a large assembly factory needed
instant relief. The factory decided to install a permanent system, but due to the size of the facility and the
intense summer heat, a portable system was installed until the permanent system was up and running. To help keep
costs down, the portable system was designed to only cool the working area of the assembly line rather than the
entire facility. Production rose to its highest levels in recent years.
Portable equipment System:
- 660 Tons of Air Conditioning
- 7800' of "flex" and "lay flat" duct work
- Power: 13600v of Utility power. CRS supplied a high voltage transformer to reduce the voltage to 480v.
